Background
Following 10 years in the Commonwealth Bank, Bernard went back to Monash University to complete a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws.
Bernard has held very senior positions in a range of companies and in a range of industries, including Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Henry Jones (IXL), Jam Factory, Elders IXL, Prudential Bache Securities. He has lectured at RMIT, Kangan TAFE and Victoria University in Commercial Law Principles, Contract Law, Consumer Law, Purchasing Law and Intellectual Property.
Being originally qualified as a CPA and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries he has filled various roles including I.T. Manager, Corporate Lawyer, Supply Chain Manager, General Manager and Company Secretary, CFO, COO and CEO as well as consulting to the Victorian Government on the outplacement of VicRail Freight to private industry. Prior to joining Hutchinson Legal he was active locally in Business Broking.
With an open, friendly attitude he is able to relate well with clients and he is a passionate advocate in obtaining the best result for them.
Bernard’s other passion is Little Athletics with an involvement at local Ringwood Little Athletics and as a Level 2 Coach has coached State and National Champions and record holders, as well as the Junior Development Squad and State VLAA teams.
