Background
Martin completed his law degree in 2006 as a mature aged student having worked as a Baptist Minister for over 20 years. Martin combines legal work at our office with pastoral ministry at Surrey Hills Church of Christ.
In his years in pastoral ministry as a Baptist Minister, Martin was actively involved in local and overseas development work. He established a Community Neighbourhood Centre in Ivanhoe and before then was instrumental in establishing a Drug and Family Therapy Centre in Coburg where he was the presiding Chaplain. Overseas, Martin worked in rural and urban slum areas of Nicaragua, Central America.
Martin has also been actively involved with refugees and asylum seekers and remains concerned about their plight.
Martin enjoys a wide variety of work and has been a trusted confidante and advocate for many clients in areas involving Estate Planning, Family Law and Eldercare Legal. Martin is inspired by the importance of the rule of law and the need for justice. Where possible he is an advocate of restorative justice.
Martin’s passions extend outside of the legal environment with bike riding, camping and bushwalking key ingredients to balancing the working week. Martin also enjoys reading and following a variety of sports including cricket, football and hockey. He barracks for Essendon.
