Background
Peter is an independent consultant to Hutchinson Legal and has practised as a Solicitor on his own account for a total of more than 25 years.
Peter has also gained a wealth of practical commercial experience over many years having been involved, in his own right, in the establishment of a number of businesses from start-up phase through to Stock Exchange Listings in Australia, the U.S. and Canada.
He has extensive business experience in Asia, particularly in China. Between 1984 and 1994, he was instrumental in helping many large Chinese State owned companies establish businesses in Australia. He still retains strong links with a number of substantial companies in China.
During his University years, Peter was appointed to the Editorial Board of the influential Melbourne University Law Review, becoming Editor in 1968.
He was a Founding Member and Trustee of the Chinese Museum in Australia. He was also a Founding Member of the Asian Law Centre at Melbourne University, which was the first centre in Australia devoted to the understanding of Asian Law and also aimed at promoting Asian interest in Australian legal systems and law.
Peter’s legal and practical commercial and business experience is available to clients through his consultancy with Hutchinson Legal.
Peter continues his interest in Asian culture, history, economics and politics and enjoys travelling in Asia.
